Subject: 4.7 PCV removal IP: Logged
Message: I'm new to 4.7's...how do you remove the PCV on the oil fill tube? Also, what is the difference between the factory modified oil fill tube and the original? When did Dodge begin to install the modified fill tube?
Thanks in advance for your replies.

Message: PCV valve removal is push in and 1/4 turn counterclockwise. Be gentle, the neck that connects to the hose breaks off easily, and as far as I have seen, dealers are the only source for replacement. If yours sticks, shoot some WD40 or equivalent in there to help break it loose.
Not aware of any factory modified fill tubes - they did put baffles in the tubes to hide condensation snot - just grab the tab sticking up out of the middle and pull the baffle out for cleaning or whatever. It has no function other than hiding the snot - I took mine out and tossed it on the 2d oil change.

Message: ScottE,
That's exactly what I needed to know...mucho thanks.
PS the PCV setup does look fragile! It really belongs in the cam covers anyway.
