my gas gauge will read 1/4 of a tank but no more any ideas on how to fix this cheaply the truck is a 1993 dodge dakota 5 .2

Change the sender in the tank. 93's are notorious for that. Hell my 93 did it too.

Before you change the sender, try pouring 2 bottles of Chevron with techron injector cleaner in a full tank of gas. I did this and it fixed my gauge (after a short period of being in the tank). I guess the solvents in it dissolved some of the varnish build up on the sender unit. I know of one other Dak owner that did this and it worked for him too. I now use this product at every oil change (3k miles) and the problem has not recurred. No guarantees but worth a try...

Yes try that first. My fuel pump crapped out on me in the R/T and the fuel treatment worked. it's worth a shot.

if i took the truck some one to get the sendor changed would that be alot of money wouldnt they have to pull the fuel tank
