I have a 2000 Dakota QC, 4.7 w/ 45RFE Tranny. It is doing some funny stuff. It seems that with the slightest change in throttle position, it disengages the lock-up clutch. This can go on and on while cruising.

Anybody have any ideas? Fluid level is fine.
Thanks

Im having the same problem. Took it to the dealership and they cant figure it out. It only does this periodically. Have had the fluid changed 3 times in 60k miles. Im still searching for any info on the problem. Have you found anything?

Mine does a similar thing, feels like the converter unlocks randomly. When I give it gas again it revs up then slams as the converter locks again. Havent taken it to the dealer yet...

ok here are some suggestions. these are just SUGGESTIONS. OK. This is what I did. Check vent hose by removing relief plug at end. Hose comes off bell housing. Make sure clear. If that doesnt work then drop tranny pan and make sure pick-up screen is clear. Sometimes the screen gets clogged enough even from break in period to not let enough fluid in for good shifts. Clear vent line with air and clean screen and pan, put new fluid in and if that doesnt work then dealer. At least it may save some money.
