the motor mount location on a 3.9, is it in the same location on the 318? im want to know the measurement from the back of the 318 block to the to the middle of the mount, and the same for the 3.9, from the back of the block to the middle of the mount.
b/c if they are the same, then the 318 should mount in place of the 3.9? right?

As long as the 318 (newer ones have this)is one that has the mounting points on the side of the block, it will bolt in, as far as I know.

thanks gen1. when you say new ones, do you mean the magnums, or do you mean 80s to 90? b/c i dont want full around with the whole fuel injection issue. i want to run a carb. and make this installation as easy as possible..

Yeah, "new ones" mean Magnums (1992-up). If you get a deal on a Magnum V8, you can get a carb intake for it. Remember, the Magnums have retained the pre-Magnum mounting ears as well so they bolt right into older vehicles just like the LA's.

disreguard the last question.. i found the answer. the magnum 318s have the front mounts and also side mounts, while the pre mags have the front mounts.
