my check engine light came on today. i tried the 3 time key trick, but the only code it gave was 12, which means the the battery has been disconnected in the past 50 keys...( and it has) ive had the truck about 6 months and the check engine light came on once before but it didnt stay on. the engine seems ok, but there has been something funny about the tranny since ive had it. when i bought it it klunked a little when you put the initial load on the trans, so i thought it was the u-joints, but it is not. about a month ago when it was pretty cold i was going around a corner and the truck seemed to have slipped out of gear. it revved for a second and then grabbed and it hasnt happened since. still seems to shift a little funny and seems almost like something is making the truck " drag" . its a 97 4x4 5.2ltr with 80,000. any ideas? i could use the help! thanks guys!

continue to turn the key it will produce different error codes each time its turned.

turning the key again did not work,all that it gives is the 12. i tried turning it again after it gave the 12 and nothing came up.i also tried 4 times in a row and other various sequences. check engine light is still on.
