well I had a mechanic check my ball joints and of course they need replacing. He quoted my 800$ to replace all include alignment. I have done some searches and it seems like its not to tough for a person to replace at home. I need to ask everyone I want to replace them myself and save the cash of course. I don’t have alot of tools and in no way would call myself a master mechanic, but I can do some very simple repairs. I have some tools but would need some to do the job. I need the step by step instructions for replacement of all four joints(uppers & lowers) and tool needed. Things to look out for and what to do and not to do. On the lowers should I just replace the whole control arm and the ball joint or just the joint itself (seem like very little difference in parts for the arm and joint versus just the joint). I like to be able work on my own truck so all of your pointers and suggestions would help.

I have a 2000 Dak SLT sport plus4x4 5.9 w/45,000

Thanks LalO
