Message: I put JBA on mine...the shop guy said they installed just fine, I checked the bolts after a few cool downs, still tight. So far they are good but I'm sure someone out there will say theirs are better. Got mine for $435 but I think you can get Gibson's for $300 somethin but I don't know how good of quality they are.

Message: What year do you have? Do you need to pass emissions? The Positive Performance (mopar) are the best but only emission leagal on 98-2000. If you have a 2001 or 2002 they can work but it eliminates the precats and therefore is not smog legal. When eliminating the precats some people also need to add the "Cat Box" to fool the computer so you don't get a code, not everybody needs the box, as not everybody gets a code. The reason the Positive Performance (Mopar) headers may be better then the JBA is that they are full length headers with a new Y-pipe (at least on the 2000, the 98-99 also get new pipes back to the dual in single out cat). The factory Y-pipe is probably the biggest bottle next in the whole exhaust.

Message: I agree and there are some other things you should consider. You will not benefit from headers (that much) unless you put some more into the engine. Like a throttle body, M1 intake, cold air intake and free up the rest of the exhaust. So make it a down the road project or the beginning of lots of mods.

Message: Mike, if you put on a new y-pipe you will eliminate the precats. No muffler shop will touch this. The best bet is to just use the Mopar headers for the 2000 model, and have the extra 02 bung welded on, then get the Cat Box from KRC. This will cost plenty though, especially considering you already spent money on the JBAs. I'm sure a muffler shop could make something up, but you got to convince then your not a fed, and it's "for off-road use only".
Thinking about it, I bet KRC can make you something, as they do true duals and don't use a y-pipe at all, then you can keep the JBAs, and KRC says their dual setups usually cost less then a single setup. There is a link to KRC on Speedtweaks site.
