i have a $12,000 dollar budget ,and was wondering how to go about getting the perfect Dak for me. In the end I want a CC 4x4 V8 5spd with some engine goodies and a 5" or 6" lift. I have been thinking about buying a 97 318 Dak with a lot of miles on it breaking it down and rebuilding all internals back to stock and adding some high performance externals, like headers ,exhaust T,B ,M-1, maybe heads,intake. Then rebuilding the manual tranny....or put a manual tranny in there if it has a auto. then i would like to purchase a shaker hood and the lift and tires.
Do you guys think this is possible with my budget? Or is there another way i could go about this? Is the 318 a friendly motor for this? Thanks a lot guys!!!

newer 318's a lot more mod friendly. with $12,000 and the mods you want i would say no, but you can get most of the mods just not everything you want. the truck you want would cost you about your budget or close. but if you go old, you can offord it but might not be able to get all the mods.

thanks a lot. would it be possible to get a high mileage V6 and dump it and the tranny and get a 4.7 and 5spd with some simple mods? Does anyone know?
