Subject: EUREKA! Chilton 4.7 repair manual IP: Logged
Message: Finally! Chilton has printed a repair manual with 4.7 engine info. It's for 2000 models, but the specs and information are there. Look for the title "Chrysler Full-Size Trucks 1997-00", number 20404. Ram, Dakota and Durango are covered. I found my copy today at an O'Rielly's Auto Parts store, $16. There's something mesmerizing about the 4.7 timing chain diagram!

Message: Thanks for the heads-up! I stopped looking for the manual along time ago since no one had them. Great to find out that Chilton came out with the manual and not Hanes, I hated every Hanes manual that I read.

Message: I'm not trying to 'one-up' anyone, but,
a friend bought a CD copy of the dakota shop manual, on E-Bay! He paid something next to nothing, $10-$20 I think. Then he burned me a copy and said 'merry christmas'!
Cool guy that Rod is.

Message: TexasTodd, is the CD manual a DC manual or a Chilton/Hanes manual and how is the information in it. Do you like having to go the the computer for info instead of having it in a book? All my repair manuals are a little greasy from being used. I don't know if I would like getting stuff all over the computer looking up something while working on the truck. Your Thoughts?

Message: The only difference was the change from a 65mm throttle body in 2000 to a 68mm in 2001. Around 2003, the Jeep HO intake manifold was added.

Message: Well,
When I did my Ho cam and intake swap, I printed the few pages, and took them to my garage for reference after reading them.
DSW, you got a printer?

Message: OK, I'm at home now, found the darn thing!
Loaded it up and it is a:
Dodge 2002 Dakota Manual
from Daimler-chrysler!
I've received alot of e-mails about a copy. Since it's so many, I have to cover CD, shipping, etc. Shouldn't be more than $5 though, maybe less, not sure yet though.
As I stated, my e-mail is where it should be under the envelope by my Screen Name. It'll take me awhile, haven't tried to copy it it yet. For those that e-mailed my work address under the envelope, I'll get back to ya.

Message: Still thinking about that, I can't help it, that's funny, grease on the computer!
And when you're done with the few pages you need, you chunk 'em.
Books will be out with 8 tracks, cassettes, etc. one day, it'll be all those handheld, and portables, etc. Type fast enuff, and you can take notes in school on one too, etc.
Look at photos, Kodak is going all digital soon!
Anyways, it worked.

Message: RadioMan,
That's clear.
That's whay I'm GIVING away a very limited #, and then that's it. It was given to me. Therefore, my karma wouldn't like to profit from it. In fact, it cost a small amount to give it away. It cost so little to reproduce, it's be all profit, but, it would come back to bite me.
I have a good job, just barely under 6 figures, and it would NOT be worth it.
