This is just an idea I had one night and wanted to run it by u guys. This is the plan we all get together and go to dodges head office and damand that they add the dakota to the SRT line up.This is what I think a SRT version of the dakota should be like. Only offered in the regular cab, a bumbed up version of the 5.7 hemi so its more around 400 horses and 425 foot pounds, viper six speed only, 4.11s in the rear diff, 20inch rim minimum on a 295 series tire all the way around, and some added body styleing to inhance its apperance. Let me know if u guys are down to go to dodges head office.

Yeah sounds great And you hit the nail on the head with the souped up hemi idea. The V-10 is too big. Only question I have is can they make the hemi block aluminum like the viper version of the v-10? That would really shed some pounds.

Actually I just found a pic of the STR-8 dakota and im a little undecided. I dont really like the new style but its ok lookin. I dont really like the look of the new durangos.

Hmm Not too sure about the looks of these new things - new durangos are flat out goofy looking to me and I bet thats what the Daks will look like as well. I dont want an old truck but I may stick with my 99 R/T and go with a paxton for more power... Hemi Dak with paxton would be insane though!

hey man i had the same idea. i am the proud owner of an 89' shelby dakota. i have a body kit and 17's and i wanna slap a srt-8 sticker on the side but i think your idea is a great one and the dodge guys are sure to go for it.. i will be a proud supporter... good luck

SRT-8 Dakota will come out next year as a 2006 model.
There's no official pic of it out yet. The 1 that was posted at SRTForums is a photoshopped picture of a chopped Durango.
But it is coming...there's not even released pictures of an uncovered 05 Gen 4 Dakota yet.

And by the way......how much do you figure they payed that putz who drives the Dodge Ram to turn coat on us Mopar fans to take part in a P.O.S. ford commercial (cuz its da same guy) and show the new ford pulling away from a HEMI. I guess you pay someone enough money they will do anything.
