Subject: Best Tires for my Dakota IP: Logged
Message: I have a 2002 4x4 Quad Cab, with a 4.7 V8, and I am looking at replacing the stock Wrangler RTS, 265-75-16. I have looked at the Wrangler ATS, Dueler AT & Trail TA. Which one would someone recommend, or is there a better choice out there? I drive on the highway a lot, but have to be able to get good traction in snow & mud when needed. Appreciate any feedback ya'll can give me.

Message: Didn't like my Dueler AT's. Felt way too squishy on the highway, every time I tried to change lanes it felt like I was driving on marshmallows.

Message: BFG All Terrain KO... kinda pricy, but unreal tire, quiet, excellent handling and grip. Who wudda thought a truck could be nimble. Although I'm sure my Bilsteins help a little in that department. :O) Check pics out on my 2001 CC.

Message: Dunlop Radial Rover RV only $89 for 31x10.50x15 at tirerack. This tire was #1 rated by consumer reports many yrs ago. Cooper tire has a similar tire that was rated 2. I have the dunlops, great traction in the snow. can be a liitle slippery in turns but recover quickly once off the gas. I have limitd slip and rarely have to use 4x4 in the snow. The BFG is also a very good tire but more expensive. read the reviews for both on tire rack. 99 xcab, 5.2l, 5sp

Message: I have Michelin LTX M/S on my '01 QC 5.9 4x4. On the road traction is excellent, as is the ride and handeling. They are no noisier (and maybe a little less so) than the Goodyears. Recently I was in SW CO during a big snow storm. Truck handled great, with excellent traction on snow and ice. Very pleased with their performance. Much better than the stock Goodyears. With proper care they should last 75K miles.
