Message: I just found out I need to replace my cam shaft position senser I have the replacement part but 1 problem I can't find it under the hood I know about whare it should be please help!!!!!!

Message: looking at it from the front, it is right behind the intake manifold, to the left of the distributor. you will be able to see two bolts holding a plate on. The sencor hangs between the block and the bellhousing

Message: It's in the distributor. You'll see it once you remove the rotor. HTH.

Message: I have the 4.7
I filnally broke down and took it to a machanic it only took him an our but he said it wasn't easy he had to go in from the bottom and take apart the intake manifold.

Message: I'm sorry to hear that. However, I don't understand why he even needs to touch the intake manifold. The cam position sensor is located on the underside of the right (passenger's) cylinderhead near the front of the engine where the target wheel is mounted to the right camshaft. There is a TSB that discusses some cam position sensors needing to be shimmed because the mounting hole was over milled and may cause the sensor to actually touch the target wheel.
