Subject: Air Raid vs. K&N FIPK IP: Logged
Message: Anyone have a preference on the Air Raid vs K&N FIPK for the 4.7L. I am wanting to buy one, but wondering which one other owners were happy with.
Thanks

Message: Husker,
Both systems do a great job.
I have the AirAid-the price was right at about $160 for the system. Took about an hour to install-instructions were very good.
Buy what you like for looks and the price you want to pay and you'll be happy.

Message: K & N took too long to come out with one for my 97 5.2l - kept calling them (didn't live too far away from Riverside, CA at the time) and they kept pushing back the date.
Bought an Air Raid - The design , I think, looks cooler than K&N's. The only difference that I can see is the metal intake vs. molded plastic intake.
The K&N is probably sturdier - The Air Raid has one "L" bracket that holds it to the fender well where the original air box used to be.
The install is simple - removing the old air box was the only time consuming thing
Air Raid is about $100 less, but both are excellent and easy changes
