 Subject: glasspak exhaust question

I got dual exhaust on my 98 cc 4x4 v8 about 2-3 weeks ago and I got a cheap muffler($175 for the whole sys.from the cat back to the rear), It has a real nice mellow tone to it but it just isn't loud enough,at all. I was just wondering if anyone has glasspaks on their dak with a v8 and if you do, do you have any sound clips or know where any are.
Or just even explain it to me what it sounds like. thanks

The heat from a catalytic converter-equipped exhaust will burn out the fiberglass packing used in glasspack mufflers in a short time. There are some sound clips on this site. Try search.

Hey Ya'll. I had a glaspak on my 01' dak and I liked the sound. But I wanted more of a rap to it, so I removed the glaspak. Sounds much better. It was a cat back set up into dual exhaust. Also, I was wondering, would my emmisions be much diff. if I removed the main cat and kept the two mini cats??? If so, would having true dual with a smaller cat on each pipe after the balance pipe do any good???

I have th dynamax Bullet glasspack it is sounding real good. It was only 31 dollars from summit racing.

hi i was thinking of going with magnaflow dual catbck system comes with muffler an tips its $566 but should be worth every penny.
