Subject: Oil consumption? IP: Logged
Message: I have 99r/t check gauge light came on oil pressure gauge was low checked oil it was fine. Took it to dealership they said oil sending unit was bad replaced it, got truck back check gauge came on again low oil pressure checked oil stick
it was low 2quarts but truck only has 41000 miles
and change every 3000 dealership said this time that it was just low on oil. But it's not smoking or using any oil anywhere I can see.

Message: Here's my story. I also have a 99r/t and check
engine light came on and started using oil. It
was the intake manifold gasket (believe it or
not). When the intake manifold gasket
springs a leak, it sucks oil into the intake
manifold and later, starts running poorly. My
dealer knew what it was right away because
they had dealt with it earlier. $700 later (new
gasket installed), no more oil loss and runs
fine. Hope this helps.

Message: Thanks a million marine770 got it it written down and I'm going to ask dealer. Since it's still under warranty. How fast was yours using oil?
