 Subject: ABS 98 dakota not working

I as a ford guy was hesitant to get this truck <1998 dakota club cab 5.2 5 speed 2wd > but have been well in love with it since its purchase < used to hate dodge > so as a recently converted to dodge guy my knowledge lacks .. has anyone any idea what would cause the ABS not to function ? the light comes on at startup as it should then turns off as it should so what ever it is is not tripping the light I would greatly appreciate any ideas on this thank you ! DODGE DAKOTAS ROCK!! cant ever see not having one in the drivway ever again :)

Dakotas are bad about having the sensor in the rear going out. This is a really cheap part and will probably fix your problem.

my rear sensor is bad right now, i just dont feel like crawling under it in the snow. They are easy to change, my 93 had 2 bolts holding it in. I'm just lazy and it is cold.

The part and labor will be cheap, just take it to a local shop and see what it will cost. A couple bucks is worth not having to lay down on the cold ground.

yeah but I am way too broke for that 75 an hour shop labor lol Got a wife n kids and a new truck to pay for lol looks like I am going to have to get cold :)
