Hey,

I have a 1999 Dakota r/t and recently it has been grinding and clunking in the rear end really bad. I dont know if its my rear end or not. Also when i got over 70 mph my brake light and my ABS light come on. Anyone know what they think it might be?? thanks

Have you checked your U-Joints? Could be pinion slack also. I wouldn't recommend hitting 70mph again until you get that thing checked out.

Only level ground put the transmission in Neutral and get under there and see if you have "excessive" slack on the rearend yoke when you move the drvieshaft back and forth. Although I haven't actually measured it, I would guess excessive slack would be more than say...a 1/2"?
