Durability isn't it's strong suit compared to the
318 it replaced.
It's basically a push rod block, converted to OHV
for the heads. Instead of a cam, there's a "balance
shaft" and 3 timing chains. Plus it's an
interference engine meaning if 1 chain breaks, the
engine is practically shot.
