I'm considering getting the Mopar PCM, but I've heard that I shouldn't tow anything with that chip. I only tow maybe once or twice a year, and not for very long. Will it really matter?

You can always switch back to the stock computer faster then you can hitch up a trailer!

Chris, Mopar does not recommend towing with there PCM for there version is modified of coarse, due to the shift points i believe, but if you dont tow a heavy item i would not worry about it, like if you tow a trailer with one or two Quads(ATV) I would just run it..But a heavy camper trailer, different story, i would not recommend this.

Well.. whenever you are towing... just shift it yourself... that should bypass the modified shift points and releive any 'damage' that may be caused by that much weight... I'm no expert or anything, just that's what I would think...

I think it says not to tow due to the fact the ignition is advanced and under a heavy load you will ping and detonate.... bad. trust me. If your gonna tow, keep it light, or switch back. my friend has a 99 r/t and tows 2 4x4's all the time no prob. but i wouldnt get much heavier.
