Subject: Mopar M1 2bbl EGR Intake Manifold IP: Logged
Message: I have a 2002 quad with the 5.9.
Although this truck has the most power in it's class at 250hp, I'm thinking a 360 cubic inch engine should make at least 300hp minimum. I'm thinking the M1 manifold will get me there but I'm concerned about voiding my warranty. What do you guys think?

Message: The M1 probably won't get you any more than an additional 15-20 hp. It'd be nice to say you could get more, but on a stock engine it won't make that big of a difference. It takes alot of work to get 50 hp.
I have not yet purchased an M1, but it seems to be one of the better mods for high performance engines.

Message: Geoff is right. On an essentially stock engine you'll pick up about 15-20 hp. If you do the matching mods - better TB, computer adjust, cold air intake - you'll do better. But remember that those gains are at the upper rpm limits, like above 3K. It will seriously degrade peformance for things like off roading and towing. Life's a trade off.

Message: Most people I talk to have minimal low end loss with the M1 2BBL, the 4BBL is another matter. I would get the M1 2BBL, TB, Cold Air Intake, and a superchips.

Message: With the 360's very mild cam specs, you can easily get away (with stock springs) with the added lift some 1.7:1 roller rockers will add. Naturally, I favor a better cam as a foundation, but short of going into the engine, at least the added ratio from the rockers will help. That and the intake are big steps. Uncork that exhaust a bit and you're there. All the other mods mentioned will mean that much more in the power dept. and you can add them in stages.

Message: I sell these, the 96 and up are NON-EGR-- you can get the EGR, the plates are included to plug the ports, but the non-EGR looks cleaner.
Smog-- it's not a smog legal part.
Will you pass the sniffer? Yes, most likely..
Will it throw codes?? No.
