Message: My first suggestion would be, If you were not having problems with the factory O2 sensors, I would put them back in.
My second suggestion would be, check for codes and post what you find here then we could determine a course of action.

Message: I've just read this whole thread, THANKS. I'm going to go to AutoZone for their code reader thing, but not until tomorrow. I hope somebody will have some suggestions for me in the meantime. Yesterday my 1998 Dakota started fine but stalled right away. That happened six or eight times in fifteen minutes of trying. Each start sounded "healthy" but then it just died. Revving it to 3 on the tach kept it going, but that doesn't get me out of the driveway... I took out the air filter, which looked pretty clean to me. I gently popped it on the fence a few times and put it back in. After that, though, the truck did keep running for the most part and I did errands around town. It stalled a couple times, but it got me home again. In all this, the check engine light was NOT on. Any ideas? Thanks! (It's a 6 cylinder basic truck.)

Message: Hey folks, how should I proceed to post an issue on my 2000
Dakota sport, four door which has a 4.7 liter? Didn't want to
but in on this because I think it's a different issue, sorry and
thanks!!! Issue, getting two codes, a #6 injector open circuit
code and bank one lean code. Thinking on purchasing truck,
runs , idles and drives great, 90,000 miles and wants $2,000,
seems like a great deal if these issues are easy to fix. My
investigating leans towards o2 sensor, what do you think,
thanks!
