A little more info on your truck would help. Year, make, model, engine? Any codes?

Take a large pipe wrench and put it around the oxygen sensor than turn counter clockwise till you hear a cracking noise, the noise means you broke it free. Put anti-feeze on the threads before you install.

I checked my codes using the check engine light and got a 12, 25, and 15 before the 55. Now according to the manual both code 25 and 15 should cause the check engine light to come on and stay on while driving. Except the light doesn't. I know it works because it comes on when the key is turned then is goes out and stays out. I can read codes with it too. So unless there is a way to disable the light so it doesn't come on when the truck is running I don't know why this happens. Is there an actual code reader for this year truck which might indicate a problem that the check engine light can't notify me about?

Where is the 02 sensor located? I have checked the exhaust from the Y to the end of the tail pipe.
Thanks

Did you buy this truck used? If you did then look for something tied up under the truck because they could have removed it from the exhaust and tied it up somewhere.

The "rear" O2 snesors are located just after the catcon in the exhaust pipe.

Again, exactly what was the code number that came up?

HO2S12, HO2S22 are the two codes. It is a used truck and it
passed inspection at a dealer right before I bought it a year
ago. There are wires showing.

The codes should be something like PXXXX. Some if not most 4.7's have 2 catcons right after the exhaust manifolds. Is yours like this? There would be one snesor before and after each catcon.

Thanks, but it looks like I have modified truck,
there are no sensors any where around the catcon. I have been all over the exhaust system. I just can't understand why I have not had any indication
until now after driving it for a year now.
