 Subject: Removal of Fuel Line form Rail on 99 5.9

Im in the middle of removing my intake to replace the gaskets, and I cant figure out how to remove the fuel line from the fuel rail. This is my first time doing this on a magnum, as if you cant tell. Ally help would be greatly appreciated.

If all your doing is changin gaskets just unhook the injectors & unscrew the rail from the block and set the rails aside. Don't have to remove the fuel line or relieve fuel pressure.

If just changing gaskets, no need to even remove injectors or fuel rail from intake manifold. I replaced mine with them still hooked up. Just kinda flip it over off to the side.

or.... you can go down to the auto parts store and get a quick disconnect for a fuel line. I forget which size, but they should know, its one of the bigger ones. All you do is slide the tool into the plastic part and voila! its comes apart.

I lifted the fuel rail/injector/wiring harness straight up and back out of the way. Tied them off to the windshield wiper to hold it. No problem.

| how do i install a fuel injector on a 5.9 R/T

i have a 2000 dodge dakota 5.9 R/T. i recently had problems with the engine so i hooked up a dianogstics machine up to it and it said seventh cylinder injector open circuit so i bought a new fuel injector to hopfully help the problem. i dont know how to install it... i have a busy schedule im in the millitary..if you guys can help that would be great..

Swap#7 injector is easy. Remove the two bolts holding the fuel rail to the manifold. Slowly rock the rail with 4 injectors back and forth to ease them out of the intake manifold bosses. Get some rags and release the fuel pressure by opening the screw on cap and pushing on the schrader valve. remove the upper clip holding on the last injector on the back drivers side. careful with the o-rings. swap in new injector and reassemble.
