Message: yea I searched and hit the other thread but it was from last year. Just wondering if there was any new info.
A Durango board had a Mobile 1, M-301 as an alternative filter too.

These are AMSOIL filter numbers. The SDF42 is the stock size filter. I have purchased the 15 and 26 and will be changing the oil shortly. My first test will be to see if the 26 is not too long because if it isn't it is what I am going to go with. According to Steve, the AMSOIL sponsor you see on this site, all the threads on the above mentioned filters match what the 4.7 needs (well no duh for the 42) He is who sent me the filter lengths you see above. Good luck

Message: BigBlueQC, did Steven mention or know if the by-pass valves open at the same pressure on all those filters listed? It is important to know that.

Message: Just wanted to put my 2 cents worth in. I read about Fram filters on the internet and wanted to take mine out as soon as I read the report. Fram filters suck. I went with the report and put in a NAPA 1085 Gold. Also if you look in your manual it says the 4.7 should use 5W-30W. I did that and it seems to idle better. Just thought you could use the information.

Message: Go to Wal-Mart and buy the Fram filter they sell
and have it over with. If you change your oil
every 3000 miles, a bigger and so called better
filter is not needed and you're just spending
too much for anything else.
Have a great day!
