Subject: R/T 1/4 mile times IP: Logged
Message: What do these trucks run stock in the 1/4 mile. I am getting ready to buy one and i was just wondering. I am new to dakotas but i have played around alot with camaros, so i kind of know what to do. What would it take to get a r/t into the 14 second range. Is it possible to get to 14s with just boltons like headers, catback, intake and all the other little goodies? thanks for the help ~Ryan

Message: alot of r/t's will run low 15's stock, some even 14's (if youre lucky). 14's are easy to get into, only a couple mods, the hard part is getting to the 13's! lol, but even then you can get to mid 13's with all the boltons.
nitrous kit helps too ;)

Message: My 2000 R/T CC with 3000 miles did 0-60 in 7.89 and the 1/4 in 16.18 @ 87.1 (This is all G-tech pro talk on the same road.
Then with 100 shot it did 95.7
Then with cold plugs, cold stat. and a bottle heater it did 14.52 @ 98.0.
I haven't checked it since but it didn't loosen up and start picking up on gas mileage till about 15,000 miles so I would guess it would do some better now. I haven't felt I stressed the engine at all with the 100 shot although I always get hooked up and at about 1500RPM's before I give it the snort.

Message: Hey Sure T/A's and Camaro's are quick, but at what cost.I paid $24,000 for my 2000R/T regular cab, fully loaded brand new, my insurance is under $1000 a year. For a new GM at the time it would have run me $42,000, and over $3000 a year in insurance(I live in Canada). Let me tell you for the price difference I can bolt on a ton of stuff that'll allow me to wax your little overpriced toy.
