93 dak with 5.2 117k miles, recently changed tranny fluid and filter. before the change there was no problem with the shifting. now when i hammer the gas there is a delay in the downshift. at first the delay was about 5 seconds, that was because needed top top off the fluid. now its still about 2 seconds. anyone have any idea what this could be.

I had a '92 5.2 for several years. The only tranny issue I ever experienced was it getting hung up in third occasionally (like the dash button was stuck, but wasn't). If you are willing to experiment with the shift points, your Dak has a neat little adjustment tab on the tranny cable, under the back right side of the air cleaner. It is about 1/2" square, and when you push the tab inward, you can make very slight adjustments to the tranny cable. You may be pleasantly surprised how fine you can tune the shift points. I don't know if this will help, but you never know.

is this the first time u have changed the fluid? alot of times changin the fluid that late in the transmission's life can cause problems that didnt exist before. is the delayed downshift ur only problem? if so try adjusting the kickdown cable. pop the cable off the throttle body linkage and the cable should lined up to the linkage where it snaps on. if not push the tab in and slide the cable which ever way it needs to go.
