Subject: recent mod's update IP: Logged
Message: recently i have done some mods to my 98 4x4 5.2.
K & N = increase in throttle response mid to upper powerband
Terminator flowmaster exhaust = noticed lower end throttle resonse and much smoother sound
3923 plugs and wires = smoother idleing sputtering gone and slight hesitation at take off gone.
Power-aid spacer = (i had to at least try it)already had the part ordered!! = noticed a slight increase at lower take off speeds. (minimal)
i have not noticed any increase in fuel efficiency! still avg 11-12mpg. that 90% highway 10 in town.
overall performance is much better. the lower end powerband suffers (take off) but at highway speeds or appx. 40mph and up a big increase in power. this speed up you can feel noticable gains with small amount of acceleration.
considering headers & pcm upgrade next. Any suggestions?
cant understand this piss poor fuel milage? this is the first milage test since the previous mods were done. with = 92 octane gas os temp 20 degrees.
Someone mentioned it takes a short time for the computer to re-learn mod's!! i wouldn't think it would considering the changes here? not sure though. comments?

Message: From the mods you listed, the plug reading, and the mpg, you seem to have a lean condition that the computer cannot compensate enough for. My suggestion would be to go for the MP computer, or a chip to bring the air/fuel ratio back in line. Then you will really benefit from your previous mods.

Message: I have a 1992 5.2 4x4. I have the K&N in the stock air cleaner. I'm running an MSD 6a accel 8.8 racing wires, accel coil, AP3923 plugs, ported and polished stock tb and flowmaster 70 series 3 inch exhaust. I normally average 13 to 14 mpg around town and 17 to 19 mpg on the freeway.
