but by letting it idle for that long of a time wouldn't you just offset the mpg increase by the engine consuming the fuel while idling?

Sorry for not answering, I forgot about I posted this on here. would a chip help or hurt my gas milage if I put one in. By the way my dakota is the 5.2L.
