Message: 14.8? That fast? That would be wonderful. BTW as far as 1/4 mile goes how do the 4.7's hold up to the 5.9? The reason I ask is b/c a buddy has a single cab r/t and it ran 15.3 stock. So do you think that a 4.7 reg cab would be faster?

Message: if you get a RC 4.7L 5-speed, you CAN do a 14.8 quarter. but a truck with all the same stuff could be slower. low to mid 15's are common with that setup. auto's are gonna be slower. that's with a STOCK truck... but who wants to leave it that way? u? my truck was stock for 1 hour after i got it. so i'll never know what i run stock.

Message: dude i thought you said QC. i guess i was hitting the crack pipe a little hard last night.
yea, high 14's to mid 15's are common. a lot also has to do with the driver. you can have a 13sec car, but with a inexperienced driver it can run in the mid 15's.

My first time ever "legally" dragging it i pulled a 15.339@89.4 But that was with a 1.45 reaction time, and no traction what so ever.so with a little practice high 14's are feasible.

Message: All the times I get are coming from the Gtech,,it's a good tool,,,but sometimes I wonder about the accuracy. 15.2 is a best,,I can get lots of 15.4's,,and the first time I ever tried to run it got a 15.8 (lots'o spin'n). Traction is still a major prob.,,as it is w/everyone. But I've gotten better.
Plus the conditions have to be JUST right,,cold temps,,,good road,,no gas (the moon has to be in the house of Jupiter - type of deal sometimes)

Message: Caleb, keep in mind reaction time has nothing do do with the 15.339 you ran. You can technically sit at the light for 10 seconds, then leave and still run a 15.3, it doesn't mean with a perfect light you would have run a 5! If you give the 60 ft time from that run then you might be able to figure what it would have run with less wheel spin.
Marty, if your friend has a RC R/T that is still stock, then if you go to the track on the same day as him, and you make a good pass, you will be just as fast as him. Somebody is bound to win, but it should be a real close race. It will all come down to who launches best, and if you can hit all the shifts right.

Message: Not to be a pessimist but I figure you WILL run an honest 15.5 in that truck. Now you MAY be able to run faster than that but realistically I doubt some of the lower times posted are in the realm of mortal men/women. It isn't just the equipment, It's driver plus track condition plus elevation. Then when you breakdown what the truck comes equipped with it get's even trickier. 3:92 means lotsa torque but you have to watch that wheel spin.
Anyhow as most of the folks on this board will tell you the only way to know for sure is to go to the track. My RC 5.2l 5 sp. 3:92 ran a best of 15.59 on a nice track with a single mod the Flowmaster muff. with 2.5 in and outlet but I've only been driving 5 sp for two years. Did a lo0t of mods in the fall but I haven't been to the track with em yet. I still need to get the stock airfilter setup outa there.
Good luck in your own exploits tell us your times when you go!
Middy.
