I get about 1.7 inches difference between the Dakota and the Durango. The problem must be somewhere other than the frame rails. The 5.2 just isn't that tight of a fit now. There may be some clearance problems with the accessories, but the shouldn't represent a major problem or even a minor one for that matter. Many people have already done the swap themselves, so I'm sure DC will figure it out.

I don't see why the HEMI won't fit into the engine bay, shares the same front end as the ugly Durango. Plus, they have a conversion kit to stuff the HEMI into a Wrangler. I'll try to find the link, if ppl don't believe me. They said it was a tight fit. And I've seen 2 GenIII's with HEMI's in them. So why not just make a conversion kit for the currents models. It'll be a dream, sexy looking GenIII with that HEMI under the hood. Who could say no to the right price?
