Subject: 4x4 Problem IP: Logged
Message: Guys help me out, please. I have a 98 V8 5.2 4x4. Just got it not to long ago, about 4 months ago or less. Got the first snow and I had never tested the 4x4 since I got it. I replaced the rear diff. fluid during the summer with Amsoil and the special slip additive. So I tested it out and it grabs and pulls and then when I switch ot of it, it makes a winding down sound. I don't know what it could be. Any info or feedback would be great guys. Thanks!

Message: Sounds almost normal to me. Binds on sharp turns and whines when in 4wd on decel from t-case. Almost all 4X4 do that.

Message: The winding down is probably just a disengage process because the transfer case doesnt automatically disengage, it takes a few seconds to come out of mesh
