Subject: Idle and clunk noise IP: Logged
Message: Hey guys
I have a 95 dakota sport 4x4 318 5sp, and recently i just experianced an idle problem, the problem is sometimes when i'll be sitting at the light the truck would idle up to 2000 rpm and drop down again. I know it is not a IAC valve do u think that it might be the coolant temp sensor ???
other thing i have chrysler 8.25 axle in the back and i need a ring and pinion gear u guys know a good place on the net to buy such thing.
thx

Message: This problem recently happened to a friend of mine. He has a 97 dak with the v6, anyway, we checked everything and could find nothing. We ended up tracking it down to the TPS(throttle postion sensor) We cleaned out the throttle body and the sensor, this took care of the problem. I am not saying this is your problem but maybe it will help. We cleaned the butterfly valve area out with throttle body spray. Good luck

Message: For the rear end parts, I would look at:
http://www.4wheelparts.com/
They also have lots of parts not listed on the site in their paper catalog.
And if its not the TPS check the MAP sensor. One of those is causing the problem.
