Message: Well today I finished my weekend project of Magnum 1.7 rr's, M-1 install, and flex a lite 150 fan. I was surpiised as to how easy this entire project was. Mostly intimidated at first by the 1.7's than anything. The hardest part was trying to remove the engine fan. I just unbolted the water pump (high flow to replace it) and pulled out the shroud, fan and pump at once.
I drove my 50 miles today and after that re checked everything and was happy. I hit the road and was very happy with the results. Loosing the bottom end tq from the M-1 was made up for a little by the 1.7's. Overall the truck is a rev happy much easier to drive vehicle. A must for anyone looking for a little more punch.
Only other problem I ran into was the initial start. Seemed that only 4 of he cylinders were firing. Checked the wire cap/rotor and all was fine. Went ahead and bought new wires/cap/plugs and that solved everything. Started up and let it run for 30-45 secs, shutdown reapeated 5-6 times and it was happy and running fine.
Thanks to all for your websites and info on here from previous posts.
Tallys up like this:
FIPK, 50mm TB, M-1, Accel 9000 wires, 3923's, TPS set at .78v, JBA headers, Flowmaster 40 dual tips, 3.73 gears all in a 318 4x4.
A lot of money but worth it, and looking to saving up for the next project of a KRC cam and R/T 2.02 heads (that one will be done by them).
