I have the 2000 4.7L and need o rings for the coils. Dodge wants $2 each($20). Where can you buy these? I checked Advanced Auto in Central GA and no. Even tried generic o rings. Help! Also, is there a PCV valve on this engine and if so, where is it?

Thanks
Jamie

Yes, it's located on the tube where you poor your motor oil into. You'll see a hose running to that tube.

2000 4.7 CC auto, clear corners, Spintech true duals, Kenne Bell s/c, Aquamist water injection.

I had the same problem, luckily I had an O-ring assortment kit in my garage that I picked up at Harbor Freight. The O-rings that I used were fatter and smaller than the origionals, but once I streched them over the coil it worked out great. I swapped out my plugs one time since I put the O-rings on and they were in great shape, better than the stock O-rings. Seems that the stock O-rings stretch out and then get pinched as they are pushed into position over the plugs. Once pinched they don't seal right or get cut.

Go to a hardware store and and see if you can find the correct size O-ring. It would probably be a good idea if you pulled a coil in the parking lot and went in there with the coil in hand so you can match it up. Bet you can get them for $.25 each.

Also, watch the seals that go in the weather pack connector that clips to the coil, seems like they want to fall out and get stuck in the worst places. Dodge will definately get a couple of bucks for these things.

Here's another tip, before removing the plugs look down into the spart plug holes and check out all the small rocks and debris that is down there, SCARRY. I took a small tube and taped it to the my Shop-Vac hose to get all the stuff out before I plulled the plugs. If you don't vac it out its going 2 places, in the cylinders or under the plug seals. Either place is bad.

Finally found these o rings at Ace HW. $2.40 for 8. Thank gosh they had them because the person working there broke the old o ring and tried to blame me for bringing it in broken. Nonetheless, make sure you always remove your own stuff. Enjoy!!!

Put a little bit of di-electric grease on them so they dont roll over when you push the coil pack down.
