Subject: Multiple cylinder misfire IP: Logged
Message: Today I just got the MIL and I have a misfire in cylinder 2 and 6. I only have 3923's, 180 T-stat and cat-back. I also only have 7000 miles. Anybody have any ideas why? Should I just reset the light and see if it comes on again?

Message: When you put the 3923's in did you connect all the ignition wires to their correct and coresponding cylinders? Because if no then that would be a very likely cause. To check just pop oper your hood and check the ignition wires. They'll have the cylinder they need to be connected to printed on them. Take care.

Message: Well the 3923's have been in for a couple of months so I don't think it was that and I checked the fuel injector for those two cylinders and they are working fine. The T-stat was kind of recent but I checked everything I could that would have to do with it that I could think of. In the end I just turned the light off to see if the problem would happen again but it has been ok for 20 miles or so. Would two cylinders misfire just randomly? Any other suggestions?

Message: AC plugs, simply, not as good as champions, btw champion makes plugs in slightly hotter and cooler ranges then stock also, been using them for years with no "misfire codes"

Message: No question plugman is right, champion plugs and my favorite the truck plug work just fine. I still get 17-18 mpg empty with 240K miles on my 95 318.

Message: Had a very similar incident yesterday with mine. However mine was after the M-1 install and 1.7rr's. I replaced the cap, cleaned the rotor (as well as new wires and plugs) it runs like a champ.

Message: So, far everything has been ok. I don't know why it happened but I sure hope it never happens again.
