Subject: The Dakota R/T has to go IP: Logged
Message: Well about 1 yr. ago i put a lowering kit on my R/T and it has royally F*&ked up my truck. I noticed that the front right tire was getting worn unevenly so i took it in to the dodge dealer. Well i come to find out that the caster camber bolts had been striped and that was the reason for the alignment issues. So i got it fixed and low and behold the tire is wearing unevenly again. So I took it in again and got it fixed. Well 2 mo. down the road i noticed it wearing unevenly again. What should i do?? I have already put about 2,000 into tires and getting it fixed and wanted to know what yall would do in my case. Keep it or get rid of it? Oh and the alignment problems started to happen after i took the drop off and raised it up again.

Message: what lowering kit did you put on??? it sounds to me like you used a crappy lowering kit that caused this or you didn't get your truck aligned after you got it installed.....

Message: It's perfectly fine to lower your ride. Just use quality lowering gear and you won't have problems. I have ground force gear with 40,000 on my tires with no uneven wear.

Message: Brett: Find a shop with a laser alignment rack, and yes, it is hard to find someone to do perfect alignment. At a minimum, most are slightly sub-par. If you find a good one, and your tire wear is the ultimate test, patronize the heck out of him.
