I have a 98 dak cc 318. I get ping under load, does this mean my bellypan gasket is shot? It only pings when the engine is fully warmed up, If it is half way warm I dont get any ping, Could this be an oxygen sensor? TPS, MAP???

When my gasket first failed it seemed to only pinged warm. I would check to see if there is any oil in your intake. There are posts in here that will discribe how to look for the oil. Are you useing more oil then normal? This is one of the signs that you might have a bad gasket.

i am not using any oil between changes, that is why it makes me wonder that the gasket is fine. I also did the vacuum test where unplug pcv valve, and hose on other side of driver side valve cover. I had pressure build up by putting my fingers over both holes in the valve covers, this usually means gasket is good. If there was vacuum, the gasket would be bad,

Typically, when the MAP or O2 sensor go bad, they cause the engine to run rich, so pinging isn't so likely. I know a fellow who'd made a few mods and then encountered ping. He swapped the thermostat, put on headers, but still couldn't get rid of the ping. Figured it was the Mopar Perf. computer. Switched back to the stocker. Still pinging. Premium fuel, still pinging. Turned out to be the belly pan gasket.
