Message: I'm new to this site, and I'm mainly into sportbikes(GSXR's). I want to put an intake on my new Dakota, but I'm not sure what one would be best.
The Intense Performance ones look really good, either the Z tube or the Stage III cold air system, I'm leaning toward the stage III cause then the filter can't get wet very easily.
I've got a '01 Dakota4.7, I'll I've done so far is taken the muffler off and put on a turndown tip, sounds pretty good. I'm also considering getting a chip and some under drive pulleys.

Message: The stage 3 Intense kit is a very nice unit. If youre interested in spending the money the 70mm Flometrics TB would be a sweet upgrade. You might want to put a muffler on to keep some backpressure. The 4.7L is very sensitive to the correct backpressure. You could remove your 3rd cat, it free and helps. put in a 180 t-stat, remove pullet driven fan, TPS adjustment, IAT adjuster.
www.speedtweaks.net
There you will find the holy grail of performance parts for the 4.7L.

Message: If I go with the flowmetrics TB won't that void my warranty?
How would my exhaust sound if I removed the 3rd cat and put a one in two out, 40 series flow master on it? Then would the back pressure be better? I reall want to go with JBA headders to car sound cats to some flowmasters but there's no kits to do so.
