Subject: Rebuilt or Crate 318's???? IP: Logged
Message: Are there any reliable sources for rebuilt or crate 318's? I seem to be able to find rebuilt and crate 360's fairly easily but not so for the 5.2.
Not that extra cubes and horsepower are a bad thing, I am just not interested in the additional challenge of a full-on engine swap (read that 5.2 to 5.9) on top of the BS of having to replace an engine at ~85,000 miles (Thanks DaimlerChrysler for your EPA inspired Scheduled Maintenance Program, NOT).
Any ideas\suggestions appreciated.

Message: I hear what you're saying but it is a lot easier to find a 360. A 318/360 swap is really very easy, especially if you're swapping in a basically stock 360. All you need is a 360 flexplate and a 360 balancer - and those are only a little over $100 combined if you have to buy them new. Other than that, everything on your 318 will bolt right over. That's it. And as long as you keep that 360 mild, your 318 PCM will run it just fine.

Message: If you do change to a 360 from a 318 try to get the same year or your computer hookup may give problems. I had a lot of trouble with a 98/ 360 into a 93/ 318 chassis
