Subject: Fouled Plug IP: Logged
Message: #7 in my 4.7 has carbon build up. Changed out Bosch platinum +4`s(thought they may be problem) and put in stock champions. A week later I checked #1,it looked brand new. #7 has carbon on the porcelin(not covered,on one side) and at base where threads end.
What would cause this? Truck is going back to dealer for P0442 and want this resolved too.
This can`t be normal and would appreciate any feedback in case the dealer blows it off and says it`s "normal"

Message: I would guess poor spark or oil getting into the cylinder somewhere (bad valve seal ?) Since this motor is coil on plug, you might first try swapping coils to see if the affected cylinder moves with the coil.
