i own a 93 dakota and the little need gas light stays on and i know i got gas in the tank. does anyone know what this might mean

The light usually comes on when you have around four gallons of gas in tank..if you have 1/4 tank or more and light is on, i would say the sending unit is bad inside tank, and will need to be replaced.
