Subject: Flowmaster Exhaust IP: Logged
Message: I have a 02 4.7L Dakota. I bought the flowmaster exhaust because the guy at Summit said that it was a straightback kit. Well it turns out that it is not and that it is just a stock exit pipe. Does anyone make a decently loud straightback kit for the 4x4 02 4.7?
Thanks in advance,
Matt Midei

Message: Just got mine installed.
Part # 842542 (Stainless) 40-series delta flow.
I just replaced the stock muffler and left everything else the same. IT IS AWESOME!
No low-end loss and the truck accelerates much better. I know a lot of people, at least on this board, post low-end losses with aftermarket mufflers and a 4.7 I really believe it is due to the 3" pipes or dual exits. Stay stock setup and run this muffler and I GUARANTEE you will be pleased. Sounds like a 60s mopar on the outside with a nice mellow rumble in the cab.
Oh yeah, I have a 2003 Quad Cab 4x4 4.7L with a 5spd manual.
AWESOME!
