Message: uhhh....a cat's a cat. Any high flow 2.5" - 3" cat will work. Just might need to do something with your O2 sensor, depending on what year your truck is.

Message: For an '00 4.7L the o2 sensor will hook up to the new cat. For the 01'-03' 4.7L the 3rd cat has no o2 sensor. Only the precats. Most people just cut the 3rd cat off and put a straight pipe in its place. Carsound makes a good cat. I have a 2.5" in/out and a magnaflow 2.5" in/out. This makes up my exhaust system. The rest of my pipes are stock.

Message: You can still do a high flow cat -- if you have an O2 sensor to worry about, just get something like this:

KRC makes one, too, but it's about $10 more expensive.

Message: Be carefull what you do. Cats are very strictly regulated by the emissions nazi's. Check with your local inspector before doing anything.

Message: Good news - many states no longer use a sniffer on newer vehicles with the obdii port. Probably won't even check that unless there is a problem with the dash light. simms box would take care of that, you'd be good in MA.
