 Subject: Lakewood Traction Bars

I was just wondering if anyone has these traction bars on and how they like them. I am getting ready to buy new slicks and i am going to get some traction bars but don't know what to go with. Please let my know what you guys went with and how you like them. Thanks Matt

for the price you can;t lose. i've heard people say they bend the leafs and stuff like that but i can;t say i've had a problem with them and they've been on for over a year. so yeah spend the $30

The 30$ Lakewoods are to short for our Daks. The rubber bumper will be about two inchs from touching the springs. If you shim the back to get the bumper to touch, it will bend your springs over time. They can be modified to work. I have a set that I reworked to fit. Lakewood makes a set for the Dak that costs 70$. They are black with yellow bumpers. Shannon and Greg are right they are a good deal at 30$. Hell if nothing else they look good.

Autozone, Now $39.95 was $29.95. I gave $29.95 about a year ago. They can look up the ones for the Daks, they quoted 69.95. NAPA also had them. Just about all the Chain auto parts stores carry the universal traction bars. Look around.

So you can pay like 70 for the ones for the dakotas...not just the universal ones.

make sure you get the H.D. ones. the regular ones are junk. i've had mine for a year now. cured the wheel-hop. inexpensive performance enhancer.

Hey Matt, Good to here from you. The guys on dakotausa and dakotatrucks are putting a meet together over near Indy in May. The ole Dak is doing well, I have put the Motorsport away for the winter. You and Bill get a meet together and I'll be there, take it easy.

Hey Blacksheep good to hear from you. I'm going
to weigh in on the Lakewood T-Bar debate. I have a 99 CC R/T, I bought the $29.95 (now $39.95)
Lakewoods from Autozone. They have been on my truck for 6 months now with no ill effects. I did have to shim them to get the proper fit. I used
1"x1/4" steel bar stock 3pcs. at the back, 2pcs.
at the front. this set the snubbers at 1/2" from the spring. I would not recommend this to those who have dropped their truck using blocks.
