Has anyone made there own tailgate spoilers? Been wanting to add one but the only ones I can find are the crap listed by LUND etc. (Backdraft) Would like one like the single spoliers found on Oval track trucks. Just want to add some flare to my truck.

i made a wing out of cardboard and spray painted it to match my truck...it gave me a good 120 hp...

i saw an old ram like 87 model and it was lowered and red with a spoiler with not cover and it was the stupidest thing i've ever seen.......i wasn't proud about owning a dodge when i saw it

its kinda funny how people say, if we put wings on our trucks it looks like a ricer or something, i guess that $50,000 dollar truck they call the srt-10 must be one bada$$ ricer then, i dunno thats just my guess, id be happy to have that truck with a wing, thats only what i think though, i guess some other people wouldnt want it cuz its a ricer and all.....

I've seen the Xenon three piece tailgat spoiler on my friends R/T and it looks pretty good with the steel toneau cover on there, but me i'd just stay away from the whole wing thing, it won't look right at all,
why dont you just put your moms coffee table on the tail gate and paint it to match your truck, the performance is amazing

So many people with 70's muscle cars, especially Dodges and Plymoths are going to be disappointed at finding out they were the original "ricers."
My '71 Dodge R/T is now offically a "ricer." SIGH

I may not be a popular poster here, but if you want one, go for it.
Ricers are FRONT WHEEL DRIVE!!!!!
At least his Dak is RWD!
I've even considered it once, but I now have a cab high, colored matched Leer shell. With passthru windows on truck and cab shell, and a donut gasket between the truck and shell, it's clear infaltable.

Listen to demigog. It's your truck, do whatever you want.
Personally, I've never seen it done. But a real wing with side plates held on with a nice heavy duty base and some rod end tubing would look trick. It would also create drag, obstruct your rear view, and slow you down a bit, but life's a trade off.
What you could do is make a wing that attaches to the front of the tail gate so that it stand up when the tail gate is down. Put it all together with rod ends and drift pins, so it comes out in a few seconds.
