When reved up it comes down slowly and stays at 1500 then a few seconds later goes to 1000. also it sometimes gets stuck at 3000 rpm untill i put it into gear and force the rpm's down.

Im thinkin that the iac is bad, i tested the tps a while back and it was fine but ill test it again. Anyone know whats goin on?

I would also check the Plenum to see if it is leaking. If you have checked it look down through the TB and see if you see any oil. Are you going through oil like you where burning it? I just replaced my Plenum plate with the APS plate couple months ago and I have the same engine and tranny as you and at the worst I had the same exact symptoms as you. When I was trying to make up my mind on what to do I found that when I took the air supply tub that goes from the air hat into the drivers side valve cover there was allot of vacuum and when taken off while running the engine stumbled allot until I put a thumb over the tub.

ya there is a small plenum gasket leak. Found out right after i bought the truck. Seller reinburst me for all the parts to fix it but i just havent had the time.

I disconnected the iac motor and it ran just fine....exept for it idled at about 1100. Im goin to try to clean it again. If it doesnt help and a new one doesnt either i guess im going to have to make the time to fix that plenum gasket.

Thanks for the relplys =)
