SRT=Street Race Technology PVO=Performance Vehicle Operations R/T goes back to the 1960's. Charger and Coronet.

I heard from someone at Dodge that it means Race or Racing Technology. According to Dodge's website, SRT means Street and Racing Technologies. By the way, I worked it out where I can have my R/T and my SRT-4, I am so excited.

I've always disputed the way the phrase "Road and Track" is written. Back in the day before the R/T emblem was re-introduced in the early 90's (the last time was the R/T Aspen) I was still disputing the wording. I had read in Dodge material from the 1960's that it stood for "Road or Track". That's an OR not an AND. Trivial I know but, that's what I read.
But that was written in the 1960's and too many people that are was but a big haze so I doubt anyone that was involved would even care to dispute it.

R/T stands for Road & Track and should not be confused with the "Rapid Transit System" which was a muscle car era Plymouth marketing program; the Dodge equivalent was "Scat Pack".

I see 3 or 4 abandoned R/T's every day with a sign saying "Take me I'm Useless" in the windshield.
It happens all the time around here. It's true.
