 Subject: purge solenoid

Hi,
My engine light came on on my 2001 Dakota 4.7. I stop by my mechanic he hooked up his hand held diagnosis computer. The code "442 EGR Valve" came up.
I understand from this web site that this dakota
doesn't have an egr valve. Could this be the purge
solenoid that activated this code.

Find the proper code yourself. Key on off on off on will bring it up on your odometer display. Then do a search on the code.
