Depends on what motor you have. Probably not the best first mod for a 4.7.

I have a 4.7 with just a drop-in K&N in the box. Replaced the stock muffler with a Vortex Cherry Bomb. I wasn't looking to add performance as I am very happy with my 4.7. But I did not notice a loss in torque or anything. I think because I just replaced the stock muffler and did not change pipe sizes or remove cats, etc that I did not have the problem(s) some do by doing that.

Got the drop-in for re-usability and some smoother acceleration. Got the vortex muffler for it's sound. Very low and solid, no gurgles, etc. Picked it because my cousin had it on a Ford F-150 and I really liked the sound out of it. Only cost $45 for muffler and $25 to install at the same shop.
