Hi,
I'm new to the forum and I'm not a Dakota owner, I have a '96 Grand Cherokee with the 5.2L V8. I'm looking for an alternator rebuild kit for my Grand Cherokee but I'm not having any luck so I thought I'd try asking Dakota owners since the Dakota was available with the same engine.
I have no idea if the alternators are the same but mine has the following tag on it
5602 7912
121000-3530 12V
Denso 70113
Can someone tell me if this is the same alternator as any Dakota 5.2L and if anybody makes a rebuild kit for it?

I know it's kind of late to respond to this (5 years later), but I'm responding just in case someone else hit's this posting in an internet search like I did.
I decided to rebuild my 2000 Dakota "Denso alternator" instead of putting an unknown rebuilt one in. It was really difficult to find parts for it - everyone on the web talks about rebuilding them, but no one gives you any parts sources.
There are no rebuild kits that I could find for Denso alternators, but you can find individual parts. I decided bearings and brushes were adequate, since my alternator is working fine, but it just squeaks alot.
I found parts breakdowns, descriptions and nippondenso part numbers at:
www.jnelectric.com
WAI part numbers at www.waiglobal.com.
You will need to get the (NipponDenso) Denso part number for your alternator before you can get the info for the parts breakdowns.
I bought the bearings at bearingsdirect.com. I could not find bearings using part numbers, but I found alternator bearings with the same dimensions (ID, OD and W).
I found brush assemblies on ebay at tridiodeelectric (very reasonable pricing) using the nippondenso part number. I also found brushes using the WAI Global part number at www.nationsautoelectric.com, but their prices were comparatively OUTRAGEOUS. Go with ebay instead if you can.
